History

1966.
We start out as a cooperative in Azpeitia, heart of the The Basque Country, in the manufacturing of woodworking machinery.

1968.
We start up the manufacturing of woodworking cutting tools.

1985.
We decide to focus our activity, exclusively, in the manufacturing of woodworking cutting tools.

1990.
In collaboration with IKERLAN, R&D centre, we develop new systems which lead us to a significant improvement in our projects (ZDS Parametric Design System) and processes.

1999.
As a result of the emerging of new highly-abrasive materials, as an alternative to the traditional ones, we develop our new polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting tools line.

2004-2006.
We launch, and successfully deploy, our objective of business diversification as well as the management of new expertise, with the development project of PCD tools for the Automotive and Aerospace, through an alliance with NEMAK, AERNNOVA, IKERLAN and IMH.

2007.
We address the most ambitious challenge of the history of ZUBIOLA, implementing an investment plan, including a new production plant. This plant is equipped with the latest technological means for the manufacturing of high precision PCD tools including an air-conditioned cleanroom. All of it, ir order to fulfil the most demanding requirements of our customers in the Automotive and Aeronautic industries.
